We had a documentary on this last night. It seems to have been a complete balls-up from start to finish. Rotten rivets, insufficient lifeboats, no binoculars for the look-outs, icebergs moving further south than ever before etc.... So ya-boo sucks to any conspiracy theorists.

Nice movie though but then I do fancy Kate Winslet.

My dad was 7 at the time and saw the news on the newstands. So he rushed home and told his father, my grandad who promptly beat him for telling lies shouting summat like, 'The Titanic is unsinkable.' Well my grandad purported to be a mechanical engineer - so much for his judgement.
